Loulé celebrates the 25th of April with a solemn moment and cultural initiatives

The first activity takes place on the 21st of April

The 25th of April once again has a commemorative program in the municipality of Loulé that will combine a solemn moment with cultural initiatives, with the aim of evoking the 49th anniversary of this event.

The first activity takes place on April 21st, at 18:30 pm, at the Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen Municipal Library, with the presentation of the book “Exílios no Feminino – seven paths of struggle and hope”, by Priscila Soares, as part of the “Open Books” section ”.

Music also has a prominent place in these celebrations, on the night of the 24th, at 21 pm, at the Cineteatro Louletano. It will be through a special show that was born out of a challenge, based on the song “Country that nobody invades”, by The girl not (Cátia Mazari Oliveira) and the Brazilian Luca Argel.

“Country that nobody invades” was born on stage, when the two artists crossed paths in a tribute to Chico Buarque. Two voices of contemporary intervention music, from both sides of the Atlantic, who will embark on a social and political journey.

The 25th starts with the traditional raising of the Flag and National Anthem, in front of the Town Hall, at 10 am, with the presence of the Philharmonic Band Artists of Minerva and Municipal Firefighters.

This is followed by the formal session of the Municipal Assembly, at Cineteatro Louletano, from 10 am. This year's guest is Priscila Soares, who will give a speech on the theme “A Woman in the Mountains, after April”.

In addition to interventions by the Mayor, President of the Assembly and representatives of municipal groups, the session will feature musical moments performed by local artists (José Alegre, Grupo Coral Infantil de Loulé and Grupo Coral de Quarteira), with interpretations of unavoidable themes such as the “Grândola Vila Morena”

The session is open to the public, broadcast live on the YouTube channel of the Municipality of Loulé and translated into Portuguese Sign Language.

At the beginning of the evening, there is another artistic commission from Cineteatro Louletano for the occasion: Janita Salomé and Rúben Alves join on stage, in a show scheduled for 19 pm, at the Cerca do Convento do Espírito Santo, with free admission.

In this April concert, Janita is accompanied by the pianist Rúben Alves.
