Grants will support 72 projects and initiatives

The Câmara de Lagos will support 30 cultural and recreational associations in the municipality with a total of around 710 thousand euros.

The grants will support 72 projects and initiatives.

«This program is committed to promoting the most varied axes of cultural activity, including, among others, popular music, choral groups, music and dance schools, theatrical and performing arts, handicrafts and collecting», says the Chamber from Lagos.

Of the candidacies presented and selected, the municipality highlights the «growing concern of cultural agents with the formation of audiences, in particular the youth public, expressed in several projects to be promoted in a school context, in articulation with school groups in the municipality».

Of the 710 euros in grants to be allocated, a part (42 euros) is intended to support the participation of seven communities in the 4th Edition of the Popular Marches, a municipal event that returns this year, from the 10th to the 12th of June , to Praça do Infante.

In addition to financial support, the municipality will also help these associations in terms of providing free transport in council vehicles, assigning each entity a ceiling of kilometers determined according to the requirements and specificities of the activities carried out.
