Jack Reading and Kira Zamora were the fastest in São Brás de Alportel

3rd scoring race of the DHI Portuguese Cup presented by Shimano

The British Jack Reading (Gravity School Racing) and the Spanish Kira Zamora (101% DH) won today, in São Brás de Alportel, the elite races of the third qualifying race for the Portuguese Downhill Cup (DHI) presented by Shimano.

The elite men's race was lopsided, by DHI standards, for Jack Reading. The Briton, with a time of 2'40''271, left the competition two seconds or more behind. Who was closer to the winner was the Portuguese Tiago Ladeira (Miranda Factory Team), who spent two more exact seconds.

Third was the British Dan Slack (Gravity Shool Racing), 2,094s behind his compatriot and teammate. Jack Reading leads the Cup overall.

 

 

The Spanish Kira Zamora also stood out in the women's race, finishing the effort in 3'27''703, 2,202s less than Zoe Zamora (101% DH) and 6,666s less than Margarida Bandeira (Wildboys/Riding Addiction), who completed the podium. Zoe Zamora is in front of the Cup.

Nuno Reis (Casa do Povo de Abrunheira) was the best under-21, Álvaro Pestana, from the same team, won in juniors, the British Noa Walker triumphed in cadets. In schools, the highlights were the youth Nui Tai (Wildpack Algarve Racing) and the children's Charlie Bayliss.

The victories in the veteran categories went to master 30 Robert Young (Gravity School Racing), master 40 Ricardo Soares (Bike Zone), master 50 Rui Cruz (MCF/XDream/Municipality of S. Brás) and master 60 Pedro Oliveira. The House of the People of Abrunheira won by teams.

The fourth round of the Portuguese DHI Cup presented by Shimano will take place in Boticas, on the 7th of May.
