Radical World Finals take place at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve

Competition will run in parallel with the European Le Mans Series

The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (AIA), in Portimão, was the venue chosen to host the 2023 Radical World Finals, between the 19th and 22nd of October.

Owners and drivers of Radical cars from all over the world, including those participating in the 12 Radical Cup championships, will be invited to compete on the same weekend that the track next to Portimão hosts the European Le Mans Series, «a series that has hosted the best teams in the world, including many riders with 'school' in Radical, and for which the 4700 meters of the circuit will again be the last and decisive scenario with the realization of the 4 Hours of Portimão», according to Parkalgar, the company managing the EIA.

“Last year's Radical World Finals in Las Vegas at the stunning Spring Mountain circuit provided fantastic racing that was discussed right to the end, crowning three World Champions including a UK SR1 Champion, Daryl DeLeon, an IndyCar star Lights, Toby Sowery, and Lamborghini Young Drivers program member Patrick Liddy," according to Tom Drewer, Radical's global motorsport director.

«We immediately realized that we would have to do something special again and the opportunity to compete together with the European Le Mans Series on a Formula 1 circuit was something we couldn’t refuse and an excellent opportunity for all our drivers», reinforced the same person in charge.

«It is undoubtedly very important for the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve and our entire team to be able to host such a prestigious competition. The Radical World Finals are attended by riders from all continents and for many it will be an added challenge to compete for the first time on our circuit, known for its technical and physical demands, at the same time that they will have the opportunity to discover and enjoy a fantastic region like the Algarve. We are certain that these will be days of great intensity and excellent races», believes Paulo Pinheiro, executive director of Parkalgar.
