Farense won 3-1 against leader Moreirense, in a match for the 27th round of the II Football League, played this Friday, April 7, at Estádio São Luís.
Farense continues in the fight for the climb with victory against leader Moreirense
The Algarve could not have asked for a better entry into the game: in the 1st minute, Marco Matias opened the scoring.
Abner was the one who made the cross, with the Farense striker taking advantage of a loose ball in the penalty area.
After long minutes of balance, Moreirense ended up reaching the tie in the 38th minute.
The referee scored a penalty, for Pastor's hand on the ball, in a move that was much contested by the Algarve, and André Luís beat goalkeeper Ricardo Velho.
In the second half, Moreirense were reduced to 10. Gonçalo Franco was expelled for accumulating yellow cards, after a hard challenge on Pastor.
Galvanized, Farense even reached the goal.
After a corner, Pedro Henrique, who had just come on a few minutes ago, made the assist with a header for Muscat, who appeared in the goal area and touched the back of the net (63').
The Algarve made the third soon after. Marco Matias won a penalty that Ponde converted expertly (68').
Until the end, José Mota's team only had to manage the important advantage.
With this victory, Farense has 48 points and is, on condition, in 3rd place, access to the promotion play-off, with three more points than Académico de Viseu who plays tomorrow.
