Commissioner of the National Plan for the Arts visits Faro and São Brás de Alportel

Within the scope of the Culture and Education Biennial – Retrovisor: a History of the Future

Paulo Pires do Vale, Commissioner of the National Plan for the Arts, will be visiting Faro and São Brás de Alportel, between today and the 29th of April, to participate in the various initiatives organized by the School Groupings, by the municipalities and by the cultural agents of the two municipalities. 

The visit takes place within the framework of the Biennial Culture and Education Retrovisor: a History of the Future, which takes place between March and June throughout the national territory.

This Thursday, the 27th, around 19 pm, the commissioner will participate in one of the proposals of the Pele – Artistic Path Faro, under the responsibility of the Pinheiro e Rosa School Group, which will take place at the Ermida de Santo António, in Faro, which proposes an experience of “staged food”: (W)RAP with Flavor of the Sea. 

On Friday, the 28th, between 9:00 am and 13:00 pm, he will be present as a speaker, together with Cristina Veiga-Pires, executive director of the Centro de Ciência Viva do Algarve, at the I Panel of Art and Science Conference, promoted by the Pinheiro e Rosa School Group and which will take place at the regional delegation of the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth.

At the end of the conference, there will be a solemn moment for the signing of a collaboration protocol between the National Arts Plan and the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve to carry out joint actions, «with the aim of enhancing creativity, critical thinking, proximity and familiarity with the arts and creative processes, with emphasis on access to the arts of the school community in the Algarve», he explains.

On the same day, at 15 pm, Paulo Pires do Vale travels to the municipality of São Brás de Alportel, more precisely to Fonte da Mesquita, to participate in the cultural activities of the “Caravana das Varieties”, an event organized, within the scope of this biennial, by the José Belchior Viegas School Grouping, in partnership with the City Council, the Theater Collective of the José Belchior Viegas School Grouping, the association Intervention Improvised Theater and the project The Band Goes to School.

Finally, on Saturday the 29th, in the morning, he returns to participate in the activities of the Pele – Artistic Path Faro, in the events proposed for Rua de Santo António: Inside Baixa Criativa – Quadros Vivos/Beat Walk (in partnership with the 2nd edition of the event Bcreative box) and at the fair “Arte moves you” which takes place throughout the day, at the IPDJ premises, in Faro.
