Five arrested for robbery in Albufeira street to steal cell phone

Two of the detainees have criminal records for theft and illegal possession of weapons.

Four men and a woman aged between 17 and 31, who assaulted and assaulted a man on a public road in Albufeira to steal his mobile phone, were arrested today by elements of the Territorial Post of Olhos de Água of the GNR.

According to a statement from the National Republican Guard, the military, "during a patrolling action, came across a man who was lying and injured in the street". That man reported that he had been the target of a robbery by a group of five individuals, who had fled towards the Oura area, after stealing his mobile phone.

"Promptly, the military moved to the scene and managed to locate the suspects", adds the GNR.

After searching the suspects, the military found the cell phone in possession of one of them. Two other mobile phones were also seized, one of which it was found to be related to another theft.

The detainees, two of whom have criminal records for theft and illegal possession of weapons, will be present tomorrow, April 20, at the Judicial Court of Albufeira.
