António Félix da Costa participates in the “6 Hours of Portimão”

Tickets for this event are now available for sale.

The Portuguese António Félix da Costa will participate in the “6 Hours of Portimão” that started on the 16th of April, at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve.

«This return to Portimão is marked by mixed feelings because it will mark the end of a story with another about to begin. landed kind of by chance in LMP2 because when I left BMW the opportunity came very late, I was hired just a few weeks before the first race at Silverstone in 2019 and my life has changed since then», says Félix da Costa.

Even without competing, António Félix da Costa does not miss the opportunity to learn and, in Sebring, in the first race of WEC 2023, he spent the whole week with the team to discover all the details surrounding his team.

«It was super interesting because not being competing I had the opportunity to learn from a lot of what I saw and I could even see how the other teams work. There's always a lot we can learn from being outside – simple things like where the liquor bottles are between shifts of driving to how the intercoms are connected. I know how things happen around me and small details that help me to trust this great team even more», says the pilot.

“It will be interesting to see all the hypercars of this new WEC era, competing at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve is a difficult track in terms of traffic management and for that reason alone the race will certainly be more chaotic than in the past, surely. The last time we competed there – two years ago – the public was not allowed to enter the grandstands and so now I will have the company of the whole family, many friends and I think we will also have the presence of many followers. It's fantastic to be able to compete at home because many of my friends and those who follow me don't have the opportunity to go to many races. I can't wait to be back in the WEC paddock as a driver and I think it will be very special», he adds.

António Félix da Costa will be the only Portuguese driver on the starting grid and will line up for the last time at the wheel of the LMP2 of the Hertz Team Jota team before taking the wheel of the Porsche 963.

In the race he will have Will Stevens and David Beckmann as teammates, giving this place to Yifei Ye in the trio that will be in the Ardennes in the debut at the controls of the hypercar.

Tickets for this race are now available for sale and prices vary between 25 (Bancada Portimão) and 150 euros (VIP Tower) for the whole weekend, and can be purchased on the official website of the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve.
