Internal Administration distinguishes Vítor Aleixo with a Medal of Merit for Protection and Help

For the contribution it has made to the creation of new Civil Protection infrastructures at a regional level

Vítor Aleixo, mayor of Loulé, was distinguished with the Medal of Merit for Protection and Help, gold grade, and with the orange badge by José Luís Carneiro, Minister of Internal Affairs.

In the document published this Wednesday in Diário da República, the minister refers that this distinction is due to the «determining role» that the mayor has had, «supporting and encouraging, in a constant and unequivocal way» the construction in the municipality of equipment such as the Algarve Regional Rescue Operations Command and the Logistic Support Base of Loulé, in the city of Quarteira.

«The mayor of Loulé, Vítor Aleixo, through his remarkable capacity for dialogue, extraordinary commitment and permanent availability, undeniably contributed to an institutional collaboration that proved to be of excellence between the national level and the municipal level, fundamental in building the various civil protection infrastructures», says the minister.

 

 

This recognition also extends to the employees of the Municipality of Loulé who had «a professional and committed participation» that was essential in the realization of the projects and results achieved.

Through the attribution of the Medal of Merit, gold grade, the Government aims to «distinguish the extraordinary relevance of the collaboration of certain personalities in the field of civil protection, recognizing, with the orange badge, the acts of helpful collaboration with the authorities in the direction and coordination of resources allocated to protection and rescue actions», according to the Loulé Chamber.
