The number of deaths due to accidents on Portuguese roads has risen to eight since the start of operation “Easter 2023” on Monday, a source from the GNR told Lusa.
In the communiqué that this security force sent this morning, the GNR had indicated that five people had lost their lives in road accidents, in the period under analysis.
This number now stands at eight dead, with a new balance sheet for the “Easter 2023” operation scheduled for Sunday morning.
Operation “Easter 2023” by the GNR, which will be in effect until Tuesday, aims to protect and protect people. its surroundings, as well as residential and commercial areas, paying special attention to “the most critical roadways”.
The period of greater road patrol effort began on Thursday and will run until the end of the day on Monday, when a greater volume of traffic is expected.
