On the 24th of March at 17:00 pm

The Municipality of Tavira, in partnership with the Portuguese Association of Women Lawyers, will promote, on the 24th of March, at 17 pm, in the Main Hall of the Town Hall, a session on human rights that focuses on “Menstrual Dignity – A question of rights”.

The action aims to address issues such as menstrual poverty that affects women's hygiene, health and well-being, the need to eliminate prejudice and associated stigma, as well as the creation of a menstrual license.

The session also recalls the necessary intersection and interdependence between human rights and environmental protection, namely the empowerment of girls and women through their access to reusable menstrual products.

The program begins with a welcome session by Ana Paula Martins, mayor of Tavira. At 17 pm there is a speech by Teresa Féria, president of the Portuguese Association of Women Lawyers, and at 10 pm the presentation of the project “Fora do Lixo”, with Sónia Pires, councilor for Administration, Environment and Legal Affairs.

At 17:35 pm, Rute Almeida, from the Portuguese Association of Women Lawyers, will present the work project of the Portuguese Association of Women Lawyers.
