Magnitude 3,7 earthquake felt this morning in the Algarve

Epicenter was located on land

An earthquake of magnitude 3.7 (Richter), whose epicenter was located on land, about 4 km northeast of Albufeira, was felt this morning, at 03:35:01 (local time) and recorded at the stations of the Mainland Seismic Network , announced the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere.

According to reports from readers of the Sul Informação, the earthquake was felt in the areas of Lagoa, Praia do Carvoeiro, Ferragudo, Portimão, Monchique, Silves, São Bartolomeu de Messines, São Marcos da Serra, Armação de Pêra, Albufeira, Paderne, Loulé, Almancil, Vilamoura, São Brás de Alportel , Faro, Montenegro, Olhão and Lagos.

There are also people who felt it further north, in Alentejo, namely in the areas of Ourique and Almodôvar.

According to IPMA, the earthquake did not cause personal or material damage and was felt with maximum intensity IV/V (modified Mercalli scale)
