Rui Veloso will sing Portugal's national anthem at the MotoGP Grand Prix

Rui Veloso is a self-confessed lover of motorsport in general and MotoGP and Miguel Oliveira in particular.

Rui Veloso will sing the anthem of Portugal at the start of the MotoGP Grand Prix, on the 26th of March, at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, in Portimão.

Considered the “father of rock” in Portugal, Rui Veloso is also a self-confessed lover of motorsport in general and MotoGP and Miguel Oliveira in particular.

«It is an enormous satisfaction for us to be able to have Rui Veloso singing our anthem before the start of the GP. He is one of the voices of Portugal and I am sure that he will have the best of voices with him to accompany what is always one of the special moments of GP Tissot de Portugal. I am sure it will be a very special moment for all of us», confesses Paulo Pinheiro, CEO of Parkalgar.

At the age of 65, the native of Lisbon, but raised in Porto since he was three months old, released his first album at the age of 23, an album with the name of “Ar de Rock” where the track “Chico Fininho” became an almost immediate hit.

Throughout his career, he has released ten original albums, three albums recorded live and two compilations, the last of which was released in 2015 and is ranked 14th among record-selling musicians in Portugal, with more than 1,2 million records sold.
