Projects by large companies will receive funding of up to 150 million per year

By the end of 2027, the Ministry of Economy and the Sea released today

Projects by large companies will be able to benefit from funding of up to €150 million per year until the end of 2027, the Ministry of Economy and the Sea announced today.

The financing takes place under the incentive systems for companies that, not being eligible for support under the European Regional Development Fund and the Cohesion Fund, are framed in the Contractual Investment Regime (RCI), provided that they respect the European framework of State aid.

The resolution approved this Thursday by the Council of Ministers thus guarantees, in the 2021-2027 programming period, the continuity of support for investment, employment and the economic activity of large companies, «ensuring the maintenance of the granting of incentives financial support to projects with a structuring effect, within the framework of the RCI, which increase the supply of innovative goods and services, which encourage the demand for complementary goods in other sectors and which have knock-on effects on different economic agents», says the Government.

«The importance that large companies assume in the national economic panorama is undeniable, taking into account their greater ability to access international markets, to attract other investments and potential for the dissemination of innovation in SMEs and the relevance of the socioeconomic value that they create and develop in the region where they are located, which translates into greater efficiency in the allocation of public resources from the perspective of accelerating investment projects», the ministry also clarifies.
