Mar 2030 program presented in Olhão has more than 539 million euros

The Mar 2030 programme, which was presented this Wednesday, March 1, in Olhão, has more than 539 million euros in funding, distributed over four priorities, the Government pointed out today.

«The program has a financial package of more than 539 million euros, a public expenditure greater than the 504 million euros programmed in Mar 2020», indicated, in a statement, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.

The program was presented today, within the scope of the "Government + Next" initiative, by the Ministers of Agriculture Maria do Céu Antunes.

Of the total allocation, 257,9 million euros are earmarked for promoting sustainable fisheries and the restoration and conservation of biological and aquatic resources, 200,7 million euros for promoting sustainable aquaculture activities and the processing and marketing of fisheries and aquaculture, €48,2 million for promoting a sustainable blue economy and €XNUMX million for strengthening international ocean governance and promoting “safe, protected, clean and sustainably managed seas and oceans”.

There is also a sum of 25,9 million euros for the management, monitoring and evaluation of the programme.

«Portugal is the only Member State of the Union that maintains the endowment of the European Fund for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries and Aquaculture (FEAMPA) at around 392,5 million euros», highlighted the executive.

Under the partnership agreement, the transfer of funds from the Cohesion Fund (14 million euros) to FEAMPA was also accepted.
