Orquestra do Algarve gives Easter concert in Portimão

Orquestra do Algarve, under the baton of the new principal conductor Martim Sousa Tavares, will give an Easter concert on the evening of April 8th, starting at 21 pm, at the Grande Auditorio do TEMPO – Teatro Municipal de Portimão.

During the show, works by Benjamin Britten (Lachrymae w/ solo viola d'arco), Antonio Vivaldi (Al Santo Sepolcro Symphony), Richard Wagner (Music of Good Friday by Parsifal) and Joseph Haydn (Symphony nº96, The Milagre) that evoke the last moments of Christ's life and the miracle of his resurrection, musically symbolizing some of the main Easter symbols.

This concert is also the occasion to listen to Sofia Silva Sousa, a young and award-winning Portuguese violist who is currently developing her career with the London Symphony Orchestra and who will perform as soloist on viola d'arco.

If you wish, they are also on sale at the TEMPO ticket office, from Tuesday to Friday between 13 pm and 00 pm, and on the day of the show from 18 pm to 00 pm.
