MotoGP/Portugal: Miguel Oliveira with leg injury but no fracture

Algarvio crashed after being hit by Marc Marquez on the 3rd lap of the Portimão Grand Prix

The Portuguese pilot Miguel Oliveira (Aprilia) suffered today a contusion in the right leg, apparently without fracture, following a clash with Spaniard Marc Márquez (Honda) on the third lap of the Portuguese MotoGP Grand Prix, which took place at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, in Portimão.

According to an official source from the RNF Aprilia team, for which the Portuguese rider rides, Oliveira suffered “an injury to the upper part of his right leg” during the opening race of the season.

"Fortunately, the x-ray does not show any fracture", the team informed the Lusa agency.

Miguel Oliveira was hit by Marc Márquez at the start of the third of the 25 laps of the Portuguese GP, being forced to retire when he was in second position.

Italian Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) won the race and leads the championship with 37 points.
