It is located in Ponta da Piedade, in Lagos, and, in addition to seafood and fresh fish, offers «a privileged view of the ocean»: this is Monte Mar, the new restaurant in the area.
The chain, which already has spaces in Lisbon and Cascais, is now opening its first restaurant in the Algarve.
Built from scratch over an old ruin, the building in earth tones also features local trade items, with references to nature and the sea.
«The location is extremely special, after all, Ponta da Piedade is considered one of the best places to watch the sunset in the Algarve», explains Maria Pinto Coelho, administrator of the Onyria Group. «In this way, we guarantee a typical Monte Mar atmosphere here: a relaxed space close to the sea, to taste the best fish and seafood», she continues.
The restaurant has a capacity for 150 people and features a menu with dishes ranging from hake fillets with cockle rice to seafood cataplana, including Portuguese bait.
Monte Mar Lagos is open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 12:00 to 16:00 and from 19:00 to 23:00. On Sunday it opens from 12:00 to 16:00 and on Monday it is closed.
