A 25-year-old man, under whom an international arrest warrant was pending, was caught by the GNR, in Albufeira, on the 25th of February, with possession of a prohibited weapon.
The man was approached by the military, on the public road, after presenting a “suspicious behavior” that led to a personal search. As part of this search, a knife with a “Karambat” curved blade (a prohibited weapon), two mountain passers and a mobile phone were seized.
The man had pending an international arrest warrant for extradition, under the Schengen agreement, for the crime of theft using a firearm, committed in Luxembourg.
The detainee was present, on the 27th, at the Judicial Court of Évora, where the coercive measure of preventive detention was decreed.
