GNR detains 77 people in a week in the Algarve, eight for drug trafficking

77 people were arrested in the Algarve by the GNR between the 27th of February and the 5th of March, eight of which for drug trafficking.

The Territorial Command of Faro of the GNR took stock of its operational activity during the past week, during which there were almost five dozen arrests for crimes related to traffic violations, namely driving under the influence of alcohol (28 arrested) and driving without a legal license (21) .

Still with regard to traffic, 848 infractions were detected, namely 130 for speeding, 77 for lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 70 related to anomalies in the lighting and signaling systems, 36 for lack or incorrect use of seat belts and /or child restraint system, 34 for improper use of the cell phone while driving and 24 for lack of civil liability insurance.

In the different prevention actions, to combat violent crime and road inspection, among others, carried out by the GNR last week, a total of 124 doses of hashish, 85 doses of cocaine, 70 doses of liamba, two precision scales were seized and an aerosol.

There were also 117 accidents, which resulted in 20 minor injuries.
