«The WWTP in Lagos is currently undergoing rehabilitation works whose main objectives are to improve the liquid phase treatment line, integrating the pre-treatment, primary decantation, biological treatment and secondary decantation stages. With regard to the solid phase treatment line, this will include the stages of thickening, anaerobic digestion and dehydration», he also says, in a press release.

The Lagos WWTP started operating in 1995, having been dimensioned, in a first phase, to serve an equivalent population of 75.000 inhabitants, based on percolator beds.

In 2005, Águas do Algarve started operating this WWTP.
