International Children's Book Day celebrated in Tavira

On the 1st of April, with initiatives between 15 pm and 30 pm

The International Children's Book Day will be marked by the Álvaro de Campos Municipal Library, in Tavira, on the 1st of April, with a program that aims to encourage reading and the construction of learning among the younger public.

Both children aged five and over, as well as family members and friends, are invited to participate in the activities that start at 15 pm with the illustration workshop “Postcard not sent”, by Inês Viegas Oliveira.

At 17 pm, the opening of the original exhibition of the book “O Duelo”, by Inês Viegas Oliveira (on display until 30 April) takes place. Finally, at 30 pm, “A night at the Library”, brings an evening of shared stories.

The actions are free, but subject to registration, so those interested should make their reservation through the e-mail [email protected].

On April 2, the birth of Hans Christian Andersen is celebrated all over the world. Since 1967, this date has been designated International Children's Book Day, drawing attention to the importance of reading and the fundamental role of books for children.
