The World Tree Day and the International Day of Forests were marked this Tuesday, March 21, by the GNR, with initiatives at the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Boliqueime (SCMB), in the municipality of Loulé.
With the aim of «raising awareness of the richness of the forest heritage and the problem of forest fires», the activity of planting two trees was promoted with the children's community of SCMB, as well as with the community of users of the Home of the same institution .
Afterwards, there was a «short symbolic walk» which brought together children and elderly people and which included representatives of the Territorial Command of Faro, the Municipality of Loulé, the Parish Council of Boliqueime and the Algarve Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command.
