Carmo Afonso speaks in Loulé about the “Democracy Crisis”

Carmo Afonso, lawyer, columnist for the Público newspaper and screenwriter, will participate this Thursday, March 23, from 21 pm, in a session on the theme “Democracy crisis – what to do?”, in the Main Hall of the Town Hall , in Loulé. 

This will be another session of the conference series “Horizons of the Future”.

With a degree in Law from the Catholic University of Portugal, Carmo Afonso, who was born in Loulé, has been dedicated to the practice of law in individual practice for over 20 years, since then linked to the defense of public causes related to the environment, historical and cultural heritage , democracy and progressive causes.

«The guest will bring her usual disruptive vision to these “Horizons of the Future”, this time on the democratic world, in a context in which populism and extremism proliferate and threaten democracy, as well as unbridled liberalism», says the Chamber of Deputies. Loulé.

The session is free of charge and will feature a moment of debate in which the public will also have a say.
