camera of Faro transfers 2,2 million euros to schools

This is a "record amount" of money transferred to schools

The Chamber of Faro will transfer around 2,2 million euros to the county's schools, within the scope of "the delegation of competences protocols".

The money will help the João de Deus, Pinheiro and Rosa, Tomás Cabreira, D. Afonso III and Dr. Alberto Iria (the latter located in the municipality of Olhão, but with responsibilities in terms of managing the EB1 da Culatra),

This is a «record amount» of money transferred to schools.

The objective, explains the Faro, is to «contribute to the improvement of the educational reality of the municipality», also reinforcing the «autonomy of the directorates of school groups, putting into practice an integrated strategy of local management of the school park to respond to the needs of each educational establishment».

At the same time, the Municipality of Faro continues to provide free school transport to all basic (1st, 2nd and 3rd cycle) and secondary school students residing more than 3 kilometers from the educational establishment they attend (by bus, minibus, vehicles municipalities, or river routes or a special river circuit for students residing in the housing units on the island of Culatra).

Furthermore, within the scope of these transfer and delegation contracts, since last year, catering services have also been provided directly by the various school groups.

«Our goal continues to be to increasingly promote among our community, particularly the younger ones, equal opportunities in accessing an education that is ever closer to excellence», says Rogério Bacalhau, president of camera of Faro.
