Bruno Sousa Costa, councilor of the São Brás de Alportel Chamber, for the PSD, was elected, last Friday, March 24, president of the União Recreativa Desportiva Sambrasense (URDS).

In the presentation of the candidacy, with the motto “The Sambrasense Union Makes the Force”, Bruno Sousa Costa stressed that he was motivated to create conditions that allow the club to rise to a higher level, which is “deserved”.

For the new term of 2023/2026, Bruno Sousa Costa says that he is confident that he has an “excellent and comprehensive direction with men and women of great value, assuming as main commitments the financial stability, transparency and sporting and cultural diversity of the club”.

The president guarantees that «he will make every effort to encourage greater participation of members in the club's activities» and «create an advisory board».

In the list of proposals presented in his candidacy, the proposals for boosting the club's infrastructure stand out: through the promotion of activities that make it possible to extend «the sense of commitment, of community», bringing members and people from São Paulo closer to the URDS and the implementation of new sports, diversifying the sports offer and enabling the education of more athletes in our county.

Bruno Sousa Costa declared that 11-a-side football will continue to be one of the main focuses of this sports group and, in this sense, «support for junior, senior and veteran teams will be reinforced».

There will also be a focus on communication, namely on Jornal Sambrasense, owned by the club.

In his first speech as president, Bruno Sousa Costa guaranteed that this team will «work hard and with humility, to fulfill everyone's expectations, bring much joy to the Sambrasense family, honoring and respecting the history of this club».

The first official act took place yesterday, March 27, when the Secretary of State for Youth and Sports João Paulo Correia visited the Afre Lourenço Football Field.

Bruno Sousa Costa took the opportunity to stress the need for lawn maintenance.
