The Historical Archive and the Municipal Library of Albufeira will have Easter holiday programs for the youngest.
The educational service for the Easter school holidays of the Historical Archive of Albufeira, which runs from the 3rd to the 6th of April, from 9 am to 00 pm, is aimed at children in the municipality between 12 and 30 years old.
«The program has a set of recreational group activities, where you work from a pedagogical perspective, themes such as creativity, team spirit, socialization, as well as a taste for heritage and knowledge of the history of the Algarve», says the Chamber of Albufeira.
The Municipality's initiative runs for four days and the program includes a visit to the nooks and crannies of the county's memory, entitled "I Know and Draw Our Heritage" (April 3), a journey into the past through the museum space of the Manor House of Barreto and Loulé Islamic Baths (April 4th), a morning at the Museu do Jornal “A Avezinha” and at the Museu da Banda Filarmónica de Paderne (April 5th) and an orienteering test through the streets of Albufeira, called “Vamos Descobrir and Explore the History of Albufeira” (April 6).
The activities are free to participate, subject to registration, and places are limited to 20 participants. Entries must be made here or by email [email protected] or by phone 289 599 638.
“School Holidays + Fun = Library” is the name of the second project developed to liven up this year's Easter school break. The playful activities, creative games, and crafts workshops take place at the Lídia Jorge Municipal Library, on the 4th, 5th, 11th, 12th and 13th of April, during the morning period, from 10:30 am to 13:00 pm.
The “Easter Games” for children from 6 years old, are subject to prior registration via email Biblioteca@cm albufeira.pt and places are limited to 16 participants per activity.
For José Carlos Rolo, these «are educational projects that, in an alternative and playful way, certainly contribute to the personal and academic development of these children and young people».
The mayor of Albufeira also recalled that «investing in the education of the new generations of Albufeira remains one of my main objectives».
