The Easter celebrations return to the Municipality of Albufeira with traditional religious manifestations in the various parishes of the municipality.
In Albufeira, the program of celebrations begins on the 2nd of April, with the Blessing and Procession of the Palms, followed by the Eucharist at 10 am in the Igreja de Sant'Ana.
On Thursday the 6th, the Main Church of Albufeira hosts, at 19h, the Eucharist and the Procession of the Panels leaves at 00h, the Capela da Misericórdia, one of the most imposing religious manifestations, recovered by the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Albufeira with the support of the Municipality.
On Friday, the 7th, the Mother Church hosts the Celebration of the Lord's Passion, at 17:00 pm, ending the day with the Burial Procession, at
21h00.
On Hallelujah Saturday, the 8th, the Paschal Vigil takes place, with Eucharist in the Main Church, at 22:00. The Easter Sunday Procession of the Resurrection of the Lord departs at 10:00 am from the Mother Church, followed by the Eucharist at 11:00 am.
In Ferreiras, the Blessing of the Palms and the Eucharist will take place in the Church of S. José, at 15 pm, on the 30nd of April. The following day, the parish welcomes, at 2:21, the Via Sacra. On Thursday, the 00th, the Eucharist takes place at 6 pm and on the 21th, at 30 pm, the Adoration of the Cross takes place.
On Easter Sunday, the 9th, there is the Eucharist at 16 pm.
In Paderne, the Parish hosts the first Paschal mass on the 2nd, at 9:30 am, thus celebrating the Blessing of the Palms. On the 6th, at 18 pm, the Eucharist takes place and on the 30th, at 7 pm, the Adoration of the Cross and the Procession of the Burial of the Lord.
On the 8th, Saturday, at 10 am, Lauds and Ephatta of the Easter week take place, and at 00 pm the Pascal Vigil takes place. On the morning of Easter Sunday, April 22, the celebrations end with the Resurrection Procession and Eucharist at 00:9 am.
In Paróquia da Guia, on Palm Sunday, at 10:30 am, the Mother Church hosts the Blessing of Palms, followed by the blessing of Palms, Procession and Eucharist.
Holy Thursday, the 6th, the celebration of the Last Supper takes place, at 16 pm, and the following day, Good Friday, the Passion and Death of the Lord is celebrated, at 00 pm.
On the 9th, at 10:30 am, the parish welcomes Easter of the Resurrection, with the celebration of the Eucharist and Resurrection.
The program extends on the 15th and 16th, on the 15th with the Anointing of the Catechumens, where the children of the parish make their confession for the First Communion, and on the following day, the Eucharist takes place with baptisms and First Communion .
