The Great International Accordion Gala has shows scheduled for the 12th, 13th, 21st and 15th of April and 1st of May, in Albufeira.
The best accordionists at national and international level will be in the Algarve city, with emphasis on Jérémy Lafon, world champion of the modality.
In this XXXII edition of the International Accordion Gala, in addition to Jérémy Lafon, the distinguished accordionists Mário Gato (Italy), David Duarte (Spain) and the Portuguese Rodrigo Maurício, Ricardo Alves, Jorge Alves, Francisco Saboia, André Guerreiro and Barradinhas participate.
The Gala starts on the 12th of April, at 21 pm, at the premises of ASCRATIA – Sociocultural and Recreational Association “Os Amigos da Terceira Terceira de Albufeira”, in Ferreiras.
The other shows take place on April 13th, 21 pm, at the Cultural and Recreational Hall of the Parish Council of Guia, April 30st, 21 pm, at the Municipal Auditorium of Albufeira, April 21th, 30 pm, at Parque de Vale Faro, Albufeira, and 1 May, 16 pm, João Campos Car Park (Paderne).
The mayor of Albufeira is very pleased with yet another edition of the International Accordion Gala.
«The accordion is a musical instrument that enhances the cultural identity of the region. In the past and even today, in many towns in the interior of the Algarve, traditional dances, parties or events such as charolas and popular marches do not take place without the presence of an accordion», underlines José Carlos Rolo, who says it is extremely important to preserve traditions .
The Municipality of Albufeira is the promoter of the International Accordion Gala, which is exclusively produced by Carina Saboia and coordinated by Francisco Saboia.
