120 people participated in the 1st UAlg inclusive run/walk

The initiative arose within the scope of the alliance of the European University of the Seas

The Penha Campus of the University of Algarve (UAlg) hosted, last Monday, March 27, from 10:00 am to 13:00 pm, the first inclusive run and walk. 

The event, of solidarity nature, had the participation of 120 subscribers and with the partnership of several entities.

The initiative emerged within the framework of the alliance of the European University of the Seas (SEA-EU), a consortium composed of nine European universities, which the UAlg recently integrated.

Medical support was provided, free of charge, by the company Line Star Life.

Internally, the initiative also had the support of the Volunteering Group of the University of Algarve (UAlg V+), the Support Office for Students with Special Educational Needs (GAENEE), the Class of the 2nd Year Sports Course (Curricular Unit of Adapted Sports ) and AAUAlg.

The Cultural and Social Support Association of Olhão (ACASO) participated in this activity; the Algarve Mental Health Association (ASMAL); the Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired of Portugal (ACAPO), the Portuguese Association of Cerebral Palsy of Faro (APPC), the Association of People with Trisomy 21 of the Algarve (APATRIS), and the Algarvian Association of Parents and Friends of Mentally Impaired Children (AAPACDM).

The Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth, IP, delegation from the Algarve, provided the portico.

In this event, participants could choose to run and/or walk. The kilometers traveled will be converted into donations for the Beneficiary Associations of the SEA-EU alliance, through the STRAVA application.
