PSP launches a new edition of the program “I'm here! Children"

Since 2012, around 500 bracelets have already been awarded

The “I'm Here! Children”, created in 2012 by PSP, so that parents «never miss a moment of your children's presence», now goes to another edition. The presentation was made this Tuesday, February 28, at Escola Básica do Mosteiro, in Odivelas. 

Since 2012, around 500 wristbands have been issued, 48250 of which last year, which allowed, according to the PSP, «to resolve more quickly seven incidents of children whose families were momentarily unaware of their whereabouts».

According to the Public Security Police, the program's main objective is to "speed up the work of signaling a missing child and promote their quick return to the family".

In a note, the PSP emphasizes that if the child carrying the bracelet is lost, any adult who finds it only needs to contact the PSP through the national emergency number (112) and communicate where it is and what code the bracelet has on the child. have with you.

«The Public Security Police, right away, makes every effort to guarantee the safety of the child, and then informs the family and ensures family reunion».

The bracelets are intended for children between 2 and 10 years old and have a unique alphanumeric code, without any relation to personal data.

They are valid throughout the national territory and can be requested for both children residing in Portugal and non-residents.

Wristbands awarded until December 2022, within the scope of the previous Edition, are no longer valid.
