The PSD/Algarve will put the State in court to ensure "compliance with the law" and "force to lower the price of tolls" in the former SCUT, as is the case of the A22.

The lawsuit will be filed at the Administrative and Tax Court of Loulé, this Thursday, February 23, at 12:00 pm, and takes the form of a popular action, having as author Cristóvão Norte, president of PSD Algarve.

«The action in question aims to oblige the Government to comply with the law in force, namely to ensure that the 50% reduction approved in the proposed amendment to the 2021 State Budget is implemented, which was not the case; requires, on the other hand, compliance with the 75% reduction for electric vehicles that is yet to be regulated and which was approved at the same time», says the PSD/Algarve.

According to Cristóvão Norte, «there are many millions of euros in tolls that are being unduly collected throughout the country».

«The law is to be complied with even when the Government disagrees with it and if we are forced to go to court, we will do so to defend legality and the rights of users. The Government has to be a good person and respect democracy and citizens », she adds.

In question are the following roads: A22 – Algarve; A23 – IP; A23 – Beira Interior; A24 – Interior North; A25 – Beiras Litoral and Alta; A28 – North Coast; A4 – AE transmontana sub-concession; A4 – Marão Tunnel; A13 and A13-1 – Pinhal Interior sub-concession.
