Swimming pools in Loulé and Quarteira «improve water and energy efficiency»

Two recent investments

A photovoltaic plant at the Quarteira Pools and the replacement of the water filter electric pumps at the Loulé pools. These two sports facilities were «the target of two initiatives, with a view to the water and energy efficiency of the facilities, allowing to reduce the ecological footprint».

At Loulé Outdoor Swimming Pools, the City Council recently replaced the water filter electric pumps, making them, on the one hand, more energy efficient and, on the other hand, guaranteeing «better conditions in the water quality of this equipment».

The Municipality also installed, in the Quarteira Pools, “a photovoltaic plant for self-consumption, improving the energy and environmental performance of the installation”.

«This plant has an estimated production capacity of 165 MWh per year, allowing to avoid the emission of about 42 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere», adds the municipality.
