PAN Olhão proposes a minute of silence for the victims of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria

The request was presented in an ordinary session of the Municipal Assembly and approved unanimously.

Alexandre Pereira, PAN municipal deputy in Olhão, presented in an ordinary session of the Municipal Assembly a request for a vote of condolence for the victims of the earthquakes that occurred in Turkey and Syria, having been voted and approved unanimously.

Gathered in plenary, the Municipal Assembly of Olhão, the executive and the public present thus showed their deep regret for the victims of this tragedy, holding a minute of silence in solidarity with the peoples of Turkey and Syria.

In a note sent to newsrooms, the party reinforces that "the number of victims is still uncertain, but the final balance will be dramatic and in the order of tens of thousands, making it impossible to calculate an exact number due to the situation in Syria, the country where it is more difficult to obtain correct information».

«The chances of finding survivors decrease with each passing second, with the work of the aid and rescue teams being made more difficult by the low temperatures that are felt. It is believed that, after the shocks, thousands of survivors were left under the rubble, but negative temperatures, rain and snow, as well as successive aftershocks, some of them very intense, will unfortunately increase the final number of direct and indirect victims. of which is already considered one of the greatest catastrophes of the XNUMXst century», emphasizes the PAN.

Thus, the Municipal Group of the PAN proposed that the Municipal Assembly of Olhão decide to hold a minute of silence in solidarity with the peoples of Turkey and Syria.
