Social Innovation discussed at the Territorial Conferences in Portimão

How important is entrepreneurship in the development of the territory?

“Entrepreneurship and Contributions to the Development of the Territory” is the theme of the second edition of the Territory Conferences, which will take place on the 17th of March, in the auditorium of the Museum of Portimão.

In a debate open to the public, national specialists will be gathered to present projects, discuss strategies and solutions.

These conferences will aim to promote the discussion on projects, training and financing divided into two panelss: “The Social Impact on Territories” and “Social Economy and Digitization”.

Luís Matos Martins, director of Creative Territories, says that “the social economy in Portugal represents more than 60 organizations and employs more than 200 people. In this conference, we will bring together examples and practices in the field of digitization with key speakers. This is a unique opportunity to discuss Social Innovation and its impact on the territory”.

As part of the various panels, Carlos Azevedo, general director of IES Instituto de Empreendedorismo Social, Cristina de Botton, co-founder of Cozinha com Alma, Francisco Fragoso, of Portugal Inovação Social, Alentejo and Algarve, Frederico Fezas-Vital, executive director of Yunus Social Innovation Center, Inês Jardim Sequeira, director of Casa do Impacto at Santa Casa da Misericórdia in Lisbon, João Baracho, executive director of CDI Portugal – Center for Digital Inclusion, and João Correia, provider at Santa Casa da Misericórdia in Portimão.

Território Criativos, a consultant and promoter of entrepreneurship, present in 122 territories and with vast experience in supporting entrepreneurs, are organizing these conferences in partnership with the Municipality of Portimão and the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Portimão.
