Cultural and creative industries from the Algarve, Alentejo and Andalusia are shown in Faro and Alcoutim

The official opening of the show will take place on the 23rd, at 18:30 pm, at Club Farense

Meetings, music, workshops and exhibitions. This is what the Exhibition of Cultural and Creative Industries Alentejo – Algarve – Andalusia (MICCAAA) has to offer, which will take place from the 23rd to the 25th of February, in Faro and Alcoutim.

The official opening of the show will take place on the 23rd, at 18 pm, at Club Farense, but this will be three days full of activities, «in various cultural areas, all with free admission and held in various locations», says AMAL.

The initiative is promoted by the Intermunicipal Community of the Algarve: «MICCAAA takes place within the scope of Magallanes_ICC, a project inspired by the 500 years of the circumnavigation journey of Fernão Magalhães and which aims to be a driver of the Creative Economy, encouraging and providing tools to the Cultural and Creative Industries (ICC), which cover activities related to music, literature, fashion, design, theater, crafts, among several other forms of art».

The MICCAAA program counts on the collaboration of the Algarve partners of the Magallanes_ICC project, such as the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve, the Zer0 Museum, the QRER-Cooperative for the Development of Low Density Territories and other associations that wanted to join this initiative.

According to AMAL, «entrepreneurs from Andalusia who have participated in several creative laboratories with artists from the Algarve and Alentejo were also invited to be present at the show».

The objective is «to create an opportunity for new artisans, plastic and digital artists, as well as entrepreneurs in more technological areas and services, to have the opportunity to meet and explore new ways of working and developing their projects».

All initiatives that make up the program are free, and some require mandatory registration here.

The Magallanes_ICC project aims to establish a cross-border cooperation network for the creation of a Cultural and Creative Industries Enterprise Center (Centro Magalhães), aimed at consolidating and promoting an innovative cultural offer within the Alentejo-Algarve-Andalusia EUROREGION.

Cooperation is based on historical, heritage and cultural roots, linked to the Discoveries and common to the three regions, as well as on the existence of a low-density productive fabric throughout the territory of EURO_AAA.

These Creative Industries are seen as one of the engines of change in the most underprivileged areas and generate jobs, with a direct benefit to the local population.

Magallanes_ICC is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund ERDF, through the Interreg V-Spain-Portugal Program (POCTEP) 2014-2020.
