GNR detects more than 1100 traffic violations in the Algarve

Result of the week between January 30th to February 5th was released today

The GNR detected 1103 traffic violations in the district of Faro the week of January 30th to February 5th. 

Of these, 440 were due to speeding, 75 due to lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 46 related to anomalies in the lighting and signaling systems, 35 due to lack or incorrect use of seat belts and/or child restraint systems, 31 for improper use of the cell phone while driving and 29 for lack of civil liability insurance.

In the last week, 68 people were arrested: 25 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 23 for driving without a legal license and six for drug trafficking. 

During this period, seized 246 doses of hashish, 86 doses of heroin, four cell phones and two precision scales.

As for the accidents, there were 90, which resulted in two deaths, two seriously injured and 15 slightly injured.
