Carnival returns to the streets of Tavira with a children's parade, masquerade and music

Animation takes place between the 17th and 20th of February

Carnival is back in the streets of Tavira, between the 17th and 20th of February, with various initiatives.

On the 17th, at 10:00 am, Praça da República and Jardim do Coreto will once again be filled with color and joy with the children's carnival parade.

On that day, 1500 members of the local educational community (students, teachers, educators and assistants from pre-school and 1st cycle public and private education establishments) take to the streets to participate in the parade that appeals to creativity and individual imagination.

Music, streamers, paperwork and the most varied costumes will not be missing.

With this celebration, the municipality intends to «provide moments of socialization and animation and keep alive these manifestations of the intangible cultural heritage as a reflection of the identity of the community, being important its transmission by the youngest».

But the animation doesn't stop there. On the 18th, 19th and 20th of February, at 21 pm, the City Council, with the collaboration of the Parish Council of Tavira, organizes masquerade balls in the Ribeira Market.

On the 18th, the animation is in charge of Grupo Musical Gerações, on the 19th it's Ruben Filipe's turn and on the 20th it's Fábio Lagarto.
