Algarve Football Association awarded training entity certificates to 28 clubs

Ceremony was attended by Fernando Gomes, president of the Portuguese Football Federation

28 clubs from the Algarve received plaques and certificates of distinction from training entities from the Algarve Football Association (AFA), in a ceremony that took place on Friday at the association's auditorium, in faro.

These certificates are the result of "27 processes successfully completed in 2021/2022 and referring to the 2022/2023 sports season", according to the AFA. The complete list of recognized Algarve clubs, which «has gone up for the third consecutive year», can be consulted here.

The event was attended by Fernando Gomes, president of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), who launched a challenge to all those who started but did not complete the process: «That they make an additional effort, with commitment from all, so that effectively , next year, we can once again increase the number of certified clubs in the Algarve, so that the process in the region is as successful as it has been in the rest of the country».

Reinaldo Teixeira, president of the AFA recognized, for his part, «the social role that the clubs have been developing, as well as the importance that all the men and women who over the years have created more conditions so that there are more teams and more practitioners, girls and boys, so that the growth of soccer, futsal and beach soccer in the region is a constant reality».

Also present at the ceremony were Júlio Vieira, director of the FPF, and Custódio Moreno, regional director of the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth (IPDJ), with the latter guaranteeing that his main objective is «to help the associative leaders of the clubs to be better times».

«I am aware that if we do not have good leaders, we cannot have good sports projects either. We have to be prepared to know how to respond and this work by the Portuguese Football Federation is an excellent opportunity to do just that», said the IPDJ regional director.
