Teia d'Impulsos hosts a reading club

The Teia D'Impulsos Association hosts ARCO, from now on and on the first Saturday of each month, at its headquarters in Espaço Raiz, Pedra Mourinha, Portimão

The Teia D'Impulsos Association (TDI) will host this Saturday, January 7th, the first session of the “ARCO – Reading Club”.

The first meeting, which will start at 16 pm, will have, as its motto, the book “Zulmarinho Delirios ao Sabor das Ondas”, by João Carlos Carranca who will be present at the event.

It was last year that Fátima Monteiro and Graça de Sousa got together to create a civic movement, a cultural meeting space, which they called ARCO – Reading Club.

Its objective is «to encourage the coexistence of citizens who like to read or hear read, who also enjoy writing and sharing what they write», reveal the founders.

Everyone is welcome, regardless of age or profession, and one of the aspirations is to attract more and more young people to this cultural exchange.

«Reputed Portuguese-speaking writers have already been mentioned and excerpts from their works have been read», as well as «names of citizens who, not being consecrated writers, like to write and do it with quality, having been read texts in prose or verse of his own". But ARCO is not only concerned with literature, they assure, as «other cultural activities will also have their opportunity here» in the future.

ARCO's monthly meetings began at Confeitaria Patrícia Sorato, later moving on to Green Heart at Cloque.

We arrived in 2023 and the participants of ARCO – Clube de Leitura encouraged its founders to «find a space that favored the growth and consolidation» of the project. The Teia D'Impulsos Association hosts ARCO, from now on and on the first Saturday of each month, at its headquarters in Espaço Raiz, Pedra Mourinha, Portimão.

Fátima Monteiro and Graça de Sousa claim to have been «very well received by Teia D'Impulsos, which not only provided us with a space for meetings but was willing to share synergies, in order to achieve the objectives of the two associations that are similar in many ways. strands».
