Owners of property in Silves interested in obtaining support to improve the living conditions of their homes can submit their application to the City Council until the 31st of March.
The current application period refers to the Support Program for the Improvement of Housing Conditions (PAHAB) for buildings located in the Urban Rehabilitation Areas (ARU) of Silves, São Bartolomeu de Messines, Alcantarilha, Algoz and São Marcos da Serra, and the Support Program for the Recovery of Gardens and Interior Courtyards (PARJPI) at the Silves ARU.
All documents necessary for the application process, as well as the respective regulations, are available for consultation and download on the Silves Chamber website. Applications must be formalized via the email address email@example.com.
According to the Câmara de Silves, the PAHAB «intends to contribute to the improvement of the habitability conditions of the buildings located in the ARUs of Silves, São Bartolomeu de Messines, Alcantarilha, Algoz and São Marcos da Serra, and, in this way, reinforce the attractiveness of these areas of rehabilitation, namely for housing purposes, contributing to increase the supply of housing in the central areas of the agglomerations, revitalizing and making them more dynamic».
"The contribution of the Municipality of Silves is set at 20% of the maximum amount of eligible expenditure (with the maximum eligible expenditure varying according to the type of work eligible for reimbursement defined in the regulation)", he added.
In turn, the PARJPI «aims to contribute to the enhancement, promotion and knowledge of the natural and landscape heritage of the city of Silves, more specifically the private green spaces located in the ARU of Silves. In this programme, the contribution of the Municipality of Silves is set at 20% of the value of the works carried out, with a maximum limit, per intervention, of the amount of 500 euros».
These ARUs are located in the “Geoparque Algarvensis” territory, “aligned with the principles and values inherent to the Geopark, contributing to the qualification of the territory and the heritage values present”.
