Algarve under-14 women's team loses to Lisbon

The Algarve under-14 women's football team was defeated this Saturday by the Lisbon counterpart, in what was their second and last game in the Zonal Phase of the category's Interassociations Tournament, which is taking place at the Estádio Municipal de Lagos and ended today, Sunday.

The Algarve girls, who on Friday had won the selection of Beja, also by 2-0, were defeated in yesterday's game thanks to goals from Lisbon Iara Saraiva and Inês Varela, both scored in the second half.

As in the first meeting, before kick-off there was a minute of silence in memory of Pelé and the former Technical Coordinator of the Leiria Football Association, Professor Paulo Ribeiro.

The event has the support of the Portuguese Football Federation, Vila Galé Hotels, Lagos City Council and Lagos Em Forma.
