Poetry Prize António Ramos Rosa is accepting applications

Until March 31

The António Ramos Rosa National Poetry Prize, worth five thousand euros, will have another edition in 2023 and interested authors can apply their works from today, January 2nd, until March 31st.

Poetic works, in the 1st edition, published in 2021 and 2022 will be admitted. The winner will be chosen by a jury composed of Luís Quintais, Ana Isabel Soares and Inês Fonseca Santos.

In its previous editions, this award promoted by the municipality of Faro, in homage to the poet who gave it its name, born in the Algarve capital, distinguished «poets of recognized literary excellence such as Fernando Echevarria, Fernando Guimarães, Nuno Júdice, João Rui de Sousa, Luís Quintais, João Luís Barreto Guimarães, Gastão Cruz and Manuel Alegre ».

The award ceremony is scheduled for September, as part of the City Day celebrations, on a date to be defined.

The António Ramos Rosa National Poetry Prize is highly sponsored by the Fundação Milénio BCP and supported by the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve, the University of the Algarve, Jornal de Letras Tertúlia Algarvia and Hotéis Eva Senses.
