Luísa Sobral presents new show “DanSando” in Lagoa

On the 4th of February

The singer Luísa Sobral will present on the 4th of February, at 19 pm, her new show “DanSando”. This will be the second concert of the “DanSando” tour, which will start on the 00th of January, in Sesimbra.

“DanSando” is the singer's sixth original album, produced by Tó Brandileone, winner of a Latin Grammy, and recorded between Lisbon and São Paulo.

Lightly exploring the lands of pop, and never losing the jazz tones, the album is filled with 11 original songs. «Luísa's new record adventure is an intimate and personal work, but also socially conscious and involved, bringing together songs that are assumed to be more luminous and in which love is the raw material», says the municipality.

An album that the author admits «that I've wanted to do for a long time: an ode to life».

Considered one of the most important singers and songwriters of the new generation of Portuguese musicians, Luísa Sobral debuted in 2011 with “The Cherry on My Cake”, followed by “There’s A Flower In My Bedroom” (2013), with guests such as Jamie Cullum, António Zambujo and Mário Laginha, “Lu-Pu-I-Pi-Sa-Pa” (2014) and “Luísa” (2016), produced by Joe Henry (Madonna, Elvis Costello). “Rosa”, produced by Raul Refree (Silvia Pères Cruz, Rosalía, Rocío Márquez) arrives in 2018.

Throughout his career, he has composed for artists such as Ana Moura, António Zambujo, Sara Correia, Mayra Andrade, among others. In 2017, he signs “Amar Pelos Dois”, a theme interpreted by his brother Salvador Sobral and winner of the Eurovision Song Contest.

In 2020, he releases a single with the Spanish singer Zahara and debuts “O Avesso da Canção”, a podcast about the art of writing songs. The following year, he unveils “Camomile” (2021), a mini-album of lullabies.

In this concert, Luísa will be accompanied on stage by Manuel Rocha on guitar, António Quintino on bass and double bass and Carlos Miguel Antunes on drums.

Tickets for this show cost 10 euros (20% discount with cultural passport, Lagoa Social card or Rota do Petisco 2022 Passport, available at the ticket offices in the Municipality of Lagoa) and can be purchased now here or at the ticket offices of CTT, Fnac, Worten, Carlos do Carmo Auditorium, Centro Cultural Convento de S.
