Farense starts second round with defeat in Torres Vedras

Only goal was scored in the 72nd minute

Farense lost by 1-0 against Torreense, in a match for the 18th round of the II Football League, played this Sunday, January 29, in Torres Vedras.

In what was the first match of the second round, the Algarve even scored early on, but the bid was annulled.

In the 6th minute, Robson headed in, the ball touched Pedro Henrique and the referee signaled the Brazilian striker offside.

The first half was balanced, despite few chances to score.

In the second half, Farense was close to opening the scoring. Matheus Oliveira, a recent reinforcement from the Algarve, received the ball, but allowed the opponent's goalkeeper to save it (57').

Who scored turned out to be Torreense after Marco Matias claimed a penalty in a bid at 68'.

Four minutes later, Frederic kicked in a corner from the right, Cícero took the first header and João Afonso appeared at the far post to pull in for the goal.

Farense still tried to reach a tie, but without success, adding the second consecutive defeat.

The Algarve remain in 2nd place, with 34 points, but can see Estrela da Amadora just one point away.

The next round will be, oddly enough, against the Amadora team, on Friday, the 3rd, at 20:15, at Estádio São Luís.
