ETIC_Algarve Global Game Jam brings together 60 young people to create video games in less than 48 hours

On the weekend of February 3rd to 5th

The ETIC_Algarve Global Game Jam returns on the weekend of February 3rd to 5th to bring together 60 participants who will create video games in less than 48 hours.

As in the previous six editions, the initiative is also aimed at students from other schools and professionals and those interested in the area, who will have access to all the necessary technology and resources.

The Global Game Jam is a worldwide event in which, simultaneously, and in various spaces around the world, video games will be created within a two-day limit, in an environment that allows participants to "create new professional ties, put their artistic skills to the test and their programming skills'.

For Nuno Ribeiro, director of ETIC_Algarve, «the technological and creative talent existing in the Algarve has already proven its quality, nationally and internationally, and for ETIC_Algarve the involvement in these initiatives, which challenge and take its participants out of their areas of comfort, is fundamental for their development, but also for ours, because it is with this 'restlessness' that we position ourselves at the forefront of training dedicated to this market in the south of the country, but also at national level».

In a note, ETIC also recalls that the digital entertainment industry is an area in constant expansion, having consumed around 244 billion dollars worldwide in video games and related products during the last year.

Registration is free, but limited to 60 participants.
