From Catarina Furtado to Três Tristes Tigres, the year gets off to a great start at Cineteatro Louletano

For the entire month of January

Music, dance, theater and much more: Cineteatro Louletano enters 2023 with a program with several options and presenter Catarina Furtado and the band Três Tristes Tigres are part of the poster. 

The month of January will also bring artistic residencies, such as “Thy Brain”, by Maria Fonseca, in the area of ​​dance. Between the 4th and 15th of this month, this work makes a parallel between the anatomy of the brain, the architecture of the stage space and its emotional translation.

Not all residencies necessarily result in shows, but “RELOAD – No Place is without a Genius…” will have this component in Loulé. This residency, scheduled between the 10th and 19th of January, is a participatory performance that will integrate people from the local fabric, with one objective: «to pose the possibility of restarting from scratch a thought about our own existence».

RELOAD ends with a show, on the 20th, at 21 pm, at the Cineteatro Louletano, with the participation of the people who were part of the creative process.

This month, French Cinema also returns, a cycle promoted in Loulé by Alliance Française with the support of Cineteatro Louletano, which brings a new film to the Auditorium of Solar da Música Nova every month.

On January 10th, at 21 pm, the French Film of the Month will be “La Vie Scolaire, by Grand Corps Malade & Mehdi Idir”, a comedy by
2021, with free entry.

On the 21st, at 21 pm, the grand return of a mythical band: with Ana Deus, ex-GNR Alexandre Soares, Miguel Ferreira, Fred Ferreira, Rui Martelo and Eleonor Picas.

Os Três Tristes Tigres, a band led by Ana Deus (ex-BAN) who became famous with the song “O Mundo a Meus Pés”, will find itself again with a more rock and electronic aspect, with songs taken from the band’s comeback album , “Mínima Luz”, Tigres’ first album since “Comum”, in 1998.

 

 

Also on the 21st, but a little earlier, at 17 pm, the Crescendo concerts continue, by the Conservatório de Música de Loulé Francisco Rosado, shows with free admission in the Auditorium of Solar da Música Nova: an opportunity to show the work of students (and teachers) from the Conservatory to parents, friends and anyone else in the community who wants to join in and enjoy a good classical music concert played by the apprentices.

The following day, on the 22nd, at 15 pm, Janeiras finally arrives, with the traditional Charolas Meeting. The Group of Janeiras of AGAL (Rancho Infantil e Juvenil de Loulé), the Charolas of Barreiras Brancas-AGAL, ​​the Coral Group of Quarteira, the Group of Charolas of Casa do Povo da Conceição de Faro, the Charola Juvenil Bordeirense and the Charola da Banda Musical de Tavira.

On the 23rd, a Festival returns that gained a new name last year, but which includes the well-known Monstrare, the Social Film Festival. For a week, until the 28th, Algarve Film Week – organized by the Loulé Film Office – brings to Loulé reference films and documentaries, including the Cinetendinha Awards and the participation of a guest Festival, this time Cine Atlântico, from the Azores.

As a novelty, there are workshops available for the youngest, in Almancil and Quarteira. All Algarve Film Week activities are free of charge.

 

 

On the 26th, at 19 pm, the program is aimed especially at children and families, with the interpreter Catarina Furtado. The television presenter is the narrator of this burning story, which is also a lesson in environmental sustainability.

An event that is a book, an album and a show and which also has the participation of José Pedro Gil in the voice and narration and Emanuel de Andrade on the piano.

Towards the end of the month, there is still room for another play aimed at children, on the 29th. It is a theater that includes dance, with “Capuchinho”, by Teatro Plage, with two sessions, at 10:00 am and 11:30 am, for babies and families .

Body expression and dance highlight the profile of the sound of the syllable and music, in a staging by Paulo Lage and choreography by Elsa Madeira.

And, finally, a concert by Rita Vian, in the cycle Ilustres Desconhecidos, to see and hear on the 29th of January, at 17 pm, in the Auditorium of Solar da
New Music, with Portuguese Sign Language.

Finally, another artistic residency, this time with “Conversas Emergentes”.

Plano Nacional das Artes and Companhia Caótica come together for conversations / regional laboratories that, throughout the “Culture and Education” Biennial, will travel across the country to take the pulse of creation and programming of performing arts for children and youth, in each region of Portugal.
