“Choque Frontal ao Vivo” returns to Teatro Municipal de Portimão for a new season

On the 12th of January, 16th of February, 16th of March, 15th of April and 18th of May, at 21:00

The Choque Frontal ao Vivo program is back at the Teatro Municipal de Portimão (TEMPO) from the 12th of January, at 21 pm, to the sound of “Brasa Doirada”, thus starting the new season of live recordings of the radio program Alvor FM, which will run until the 00th of May.

The musical group created in 2015 by three nurses and an engineer, all currently residing in the Algarve, the “Brasa Doirada” are “ambassadors” of Alentejo singing in the Algarve, through their own musicality, where string instruments predominate.

At the same time that it seeks to reinvent cante, without ever hurting its origins, the group also intends to innovate and bring new sounds and forms of presentation.

On the 16th of February, Choque Frontal ao Vivo will receive “Alcoolémia”, a band from Amora created in 1992, with a lineage of composition based on rock, varying the sound texture between punk rock, hard rock and pop, in search of a own sound.

The band's first highlight came after their participation in the Seixal Rock 92 semi-final, accumulating since then three decades of successes, adventures and misadventures, which will be shared and celebrated at the show scheduled for TEMPO.

 

 

Then, on March 16th, the guest is Tozé Brito, renowned Portuguese singer, lyricist and composer, former executive of Universal Music and BMG publishers and current vice-president of the board of the Portuguese Society of Authors, having written more than 500 songs, from of which about a hundred are children's themes or created for theater, cinema and television.

The musician began his career as a composer at the age of 17, highlighting his partnership with the poet Ary dos Santos. In 2021, “Tozé Brito (de) Novo” was released, on the occasion of his 70th birthday, consisting of 12 songs, originally created for artists such as Tonicha, Adelaide Ferreira, Herman José, Doce, Dina, Carlos do Carmo or Ana Moura .

On April 15th, the Choque Frontal Ao Vivo Awards will be awarded, after the two-year interregnum due to the pandemic, during which several personalities will be distinguished with the main objective of encouraging musical activity in the Algarve and in Portugal, not forgetting other genres of art.

Finally, the date of May 18 was chosen for the program of the first season of “Choque Frontal”, with the participation of the singer Filipa Sousa, born in Albufeira, who won the Festival RTP da Canção in 2012.

Considered one of the most original radio programs south of the Tagus, “Choque Frontal ao Vivo” invites, monthly, 125 people to watch the recordings and live with the artists, under the direction, production and presentation of Júlio Ferreira and Ricardo Coelho.

The recordings of the programs are carried out from 21:00 onwards, with subsequent transmission on Alvor FM radio.
