Tradition of the first bath of the year is fulfilled again

More than 400 people took the plunge this Sunday morning, January 1st, at Praia do Pintadinho, in Ferragudo, to celebrate the new year, thus returning to fulfill a tradition that only the pandemic interrupted.

The sun that shone this morning helped convince hundreds of brave bathers to take their first dip of the year.

According to Luís Alberto, president of the Ferragudo Parish Council, who organized the initiative, it was «the biggest sea bath ever, with 400 people going to the bath and more than 300 “peeks”».
