After the creation of the new Ministry, the PSD/Algarve accuses the Government of a «failure» with regard to housing, even stating that, in the Algarve, «affordable renting had zero contracts».
The PSD says it still does not know how it will be possible, even with the PRR amounts, to ensure that 2024 new homes are ready by 25, in time to mark the 25th anniversary of the XNUMXth of April, as announced by Prime Minister António Costa .
«In the Algarve, the drama of housing has served to alienate doctors, teachers and make life difficult for those who do not have the privilege of having a home. It is one of the biggest problems in the region and all the Government's responses have failed miserably. It is necessary to build more to lower prices and keep the public housing that will be built in the hands of the State, so that it is even for those who need it», says Cristóvão Norte, president of PSD Algarve, adding that having a public housing stock with greater expression and expeditious rules on leases will help everyone.
As for the new minister, Marina Gonçalves, PSD Algarve does not give the benefit of the doubt.
«He has been Secretary of State for several years and not a single house has been built or rented in the Algarve by the Government», accuses the party.
